Se dise\u00f1aron sistemas de identificaci\u00f3n para ambos pat\u00f3genos basados en la reacci\u00f3n en cadena de la pol\u00edmerasa (pcr). para ello se crearon programas de amplificaci\u00f3n cortos y se desarroll\u00f3 un nuevo m\u00e9todo de an\u00e1lisis de los productos de pcr que emplea como colorante el azul de metileno, producto de muy baja toxicidad que sustituye el bromuro de etidio, colorante cancer\u00edgeno de uso com\u00fan. Estos sistemas permiten el diagn\u00f3stico directo a partir de tejidos de pez en aproximadamente cuatro horas y la identificaci\u00f3n de flavobacterium psychrophilum y tenacibaculum maritimum a partir de cultivos bacterianos puros o mixtos en tan s\u00f3lo dos horas y media. Los sistemas resultaron ser altamente espec\u00edficos y sensibles, con l\u00edmites de detecci\u00f3n que permiten la detecci\u00f3n de los pat\u00f3genos a partir de peces enfermos y de peces portadores con enfermedad subcl\u00ednica. Los sistemas se validaron mediante la realizaci\u00f3n de ensayos de campo y la comparaci\u00f3n con otros sistemas de identificaci\u00f3n bacteriana.  tambi\u00e9n se dise\u00f1aron medios para el aislamiento y cutlivo de f.Psychrophilum y t.Maritimum. Los nuevos medios agar flavobacteriumpsychorophilum (flpa) y agar tenacibaculum maritimum (tma) fueron los que permitieron un mejor crecimiento y recuperaci\u00f3n de los pat\u00f3genos a partir de peces enfermos en comparaci\u00f3n con otros medios evaluados. Adem\u00e1s, se demostr\u00f3 que el medio caldo flavobacterium  psychrophilum (flpb) es el \u00f3ptimo para la obtenci\u00f3n de ant\u00edgenos destinados a la producci\u00f3n de vacunas.  los
