La ausencia de carad52p en la c\u00e9lula se traduce en defectos en los mecanismos de recombinaci\u00f3n hom\u00f3loga reflejados en procesos gen\u00e9ticos como la integraci\u00f3n de fragmentos l\u00edneales de dna, el mantenimiento de pl\u00e1smidos, as\u00ed como en una mayor inestabilidad gen\u00f3mica, manifestada por ejemplo en la p\u00e9rdida de cromosomas con elevada frecuencia. La ausencia de carad52p en la c\u00e9lula provoca tambi\u00e9n el crecimiento pseudofilamentoso del hongo en condiciones en las que no est\u00e1 inducido el crecimiento &#8211;.
