Las condiciones experimentales son representativas de los requisitos exigidos para el uso de los aerosoles en el tratamiento de enfermedades respiratorias a trav\u00e9s de nebulizadores para dosificaci\u00f3n y administraci\u00f3n de f\u00e1rmacos por inhalaci\u00f3n.  se han empleado un transductor pzt de 1,668 mhz de frecuencia de resonancia y se han atomizado peque\u00f1as cantidades de agua (- 0,5 ml). Por vez primera, se ha observado la evoluci\u00f3n temporal del proceso de atomizaci\u00f3n ultras\u00f3nica. las gotas generadas son finas y sus tama\u00f1os est\u00e1n en el orden de algunas micras. Se han visualizado los fen\u00f3menos que ocurren durante el proceso de atomizaci\u00f3n registrando im\u00e1genes con un alto aumento, y empleando la t\u00e9cnica de fluorescencia planar inducida por l\u00e1ser (plif). Se han utlizado lentes apropiadas que han permitido obtener una resoluci\u00f3n alta a una distancia considerable del flujo de l\u00edquido atomizados. Se han medido y calculando las distribuciones de tama\u00f1os de gotas con un difract\u00f3mero malvern. Tambi\u00e9n se ha medido la velocidad de desprendimiento de las gotas empleando la t\u00e9cnica de velocimetr\u00eda por im\u00e1genes de part\u00edculas (piv).  los resultados obtenidos no son concluyentes, parece que bajo las condiciones de este estudio, algunas observaciones acerca de la formaci\u00f3n de las gotas se describen mejor por el fen\u00f3meno de la cavitaci\u00f3n que por la teor\u00eda de las ondas superficiales que se suele invocar para explicar estos procesos de la atomizaci\u00f3n ultras\u00f3nica.  por otra parte, se expone el dise\u00f1o y la construcci\u00f3n de un sistema electr\u00f3nico de excitaci\u00f3n pulsada de transductores.
