Las estructuras espaciales monocapa, constituidas por perfiles tubulares, de gran ligereza y variedad de formas, son una muestra de esta evoluci\u00f3n.  herederas en parte de las l\u00e1minas de hormig\u00f3n, las estructuras monocapa han sido estudiadas muchas veces recurriendo a la analog\u00eda  del continuo. sin embargo, la dificultad de establecer una equiValencia entre una red de tubos y un continuo pone de manifiesto la conveniencia de analizar el problema manteniendo el car\u00e1cter discreto. Recurriendo a un an\u00e1lisis discreto se puede lograr un conocimiento de la capacidad y estabilidad de las estructuras monocapa m\u00e1s cercano a la realidad.  con este fin se estudia en primer lugar una estructura simple de la que existe soluci\u00f3n anal\u00edtica. A continuaci\u00f3n, se modifican convenientemente los resultados obtenidos para aplicarlos a las c\u00fapulas lamella paralela, un tipo particular de monocapas en el que se ha centrado esta tesis.  de este modo se desarrolla una formulaci\u00f3n para determinar las cargas cr\u00edticas de c\u00fapulas monocapa en funci\u00f3n de las variables que intervienen: n\u00famero de anillos y meridianos de la red, elevaci\u00f3n y di\u00e1metro de la c\u00fapula, longitud, \u00e1rea y esbeltez de los tubos y dimensiones y rigidez de las uniones. El recurso a estas expresiones permite conocer de forma inmediata la capacidad portante de la estructura, de modo que es posible prescindir del an\u00e1lisis no lineal, al menos en la etapa inicial del proyecto de la c\u00fapula monocapa.  en el estudio llevado a cabo se encuentra que el \u00e1ngulo de inclinaci\u00f3n entre barras meridionales y la rigidez de la uni\u00f3n son los factores m\u00e1s determinantes en el comportamiento de las monocapas.
