{"id":24350,"date":"2003-04-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2003-04-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deberes.net\/tesis\/sin-categoria\/jet-studies-in-atlas\/"},"modified":"2003-04-07T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2003-04-07T00:00:00","slug":"jet-studies-in-atlas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deberes.net\/tesis\/sin-categoria\/jet-studies-in-atlas\/","title":{"rendered":"Jet studies in atlas"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Tesis doctoral de <strong> Francisco Camarena Femen\u00eda <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La tesis doctoral ha sido realizada en el marco internacional del experimento lhc (large hadron collider), espec\u00edficamente en el detector atlas, dise\u00f1ado con el objetivo de ser sensible a la nueva f\u00edsica que permitir\u00e1 detectar el citado acelerador.  el objetivo principal del trabajo ha sido el estudio de diferentes aspectos relacinados con la reconstrucci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda y la direcci\u00f3n de los jets en los calor\u00edmetros del detector atlas. El estudio comienza en el nivel m\u00e1s b\u00e1sico del proceso de determinaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda asociada a los jets, es decir, en la obtenci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda depositada en cada celda del calor\u00edmetro hadr\u00f3nico tilecal a partir de la se\u00f1al el\u00e9ctrica producida por los fotomultiplicadosres tras ser digitalizada. Para ello se ha aplicado la t\u00e9cnica de optimal filtering a datos procedentes de las pruebas realizadas en el cern con el prototipo del m\u00f3dulo 0 durante el verano de 1998. La t\u00e9cnica de optimal fitering permite la reconstrucci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda y del instante de llegada de la se\u00f1al muestrada de un fotomultiplicador minimizando los efectos producidos por el ruido.  los resultados del estudio han permitido reducir el rms del ruido del testbeam un 25% respecto del procedimiento anterior de reconstrucci\u00f3n (flat fitering), as\u00ed como la reconstrucci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda depositada por electrones procedentes del acelerador sps a 300 gev de energ\u00eda. Se ha proporcionado un m\u00e9todo basado en la construcci\u00f3n de una base de datos con diferentes pesos \u00f3ptimos para evitar el problema de la no sincronizaci\u00f3n, en los testbeam, de los sucesos de f\u00edsica y del instante de muestreo de la se\u00f1al por parte de los adcs. As\u00ed mismo, se ha propuesto varias alternativas para la determinaci\u00f3n de la matriz de autocorrelaci\u00f3n del ruido, concluyendo la escasa relevancia de estos par\u00e1metros en la reconstrucci\u00f3n.
