Ambos p\u00e9ptidos se unen a dos receptores de membrana acoplados a prote\u00edna g, denominados receptor de orexina tipo 1 y receptor de orexina tipo 2.  dado que las orexinas son p\u00e9ptidos reguladores, nuestro inter\u00e9s se centro en el estudio del sistema endocrino, tratando de demostrar la s\u00edntesis de dichos p\u00e9ptidos y su posible (an\u00e1lisis de los receptores) en las distintas gl\u00e1ndulas endocrinas y en el sistema endocrino difuso. Para ello hemos empleado distintas t\u00e9cnicas: inmunohistoqu\u00edmica, dobel inmunofluorescencia, inmunocitoqu\u00edmica y ultraestructural e hibridaci\u00f3n in situ.  nuestro trabajo ha demostrado que las orexinas y sus receptores muestran una amplia distribuci\u00f3n tanto en los tejidos endocrinos normales como en tumores, siendo m\u00e1s frecuente la expresi\u00f3n de orexina a que de orexina b y de receptor de orexina tipo 1 que de receptor de orexina tipo 2. La coexpresi\u00f3n de los p\u00e9ptidos y sus receptores en los mismos tejidos sugiere un papel autocrino y\/o paracrino de las orexinas.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
