Estos solitones tienen lugar en medios o no lincalidad de tipo cuadr\u00e1tico, tales como niobato de litio (linbo3) o ktp.  la existencia y excitaci\u00f3n de este tipo de solitones depende de diversos factores:  a,- el acuerdo de fase entre las diversas ondas (phase-matching) que forman el soliton.  b,- la birrefringencia del material, que hace que los haces y pulsos que interactuan para generar un soliton se separen (walk off espacial y group velocity mismatch), lo que disminuye la eficiencia de generaci\u00f3n de solitones.  c,- la presencia de otros tipos de nolinealidades en los materiales utilizados, tales como nolinealidades de tipo de tercer orden o c\u00fabicas.  d,- la longitud el cristal y sus p\u00e9rdidas, que puede enmascarar la observaci\u00f3n de los efectos deseados.  e,- la forma temporal de los pulsos que se utilizan para excitar solitones espaciales.  se demuestra, te\u00f3rica y experimentalmente las condiciones en las cuales es posible excitar de manera eficiente este tipo de solitones, y la dependencia de este efecto con todos los par\u00e1metros mencionados anteriormente.  se consideran estructuras qpm (quasi phase-matching= para la implementaci\u00f3n de diversos mecanismos de encaminamiento y switching de se\u00f1ales \u00f3pticas, donde el par\u00e1metro de control es la potencia de la se\u00f1al
