Estos l\u00e1seres se pueden conseguir por procesos de conversi\u00f3n de frecuencia por procesos de \u00f3ptica no-lineal. Los cristales autodobladores de frecuencia son cristales de \u00f3ptica no-lineal con posiciones estructurales ocupadas por iones activos l\u00e1ser, preferiblemente yb3+, que pueden combinar la emisi\u00f3n l\u00e1ser alrededor de 1 um con la generaci\u00f3n de segundo harm\u00f3nico de la matriz produciendo emisi\u00f3n verde por autodoblaje de frecuencia.  el objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral ha sido la obtenci\u00f3n de cristales de la familia del ktiopo4, con excelentes propiedades de \u00f3ptica no-lineal, dopados con iones lant\u00e1nidos (ln).  hemos obtenido cristales de rbtiopo4:(nb,ln) de calidad \u00f3ptica por la t\u00e9cnica top-seeded solution growth con enfriamiento lento de la soluci\u00f3n, de tama\u00f1o \u00fatil para posteriores caracterizaciones y aplicaicones, y una concentraci\u00f3n de ln similar a la obtenida en otras matrices l\u00e1ser y un codopante, que favorece la entrada de iones lant\u00e1nidos en la matriz al tiempo que compensa la carga, como el niobio (nb5+).  el refinamiento de la estructura ha demostrado que el nb y los lant\u00e1nidos sustituyen \u00fanicamente al ti en la red cristalina. Mientras que el nb5+ s\u00f3lo sustituye al ti en la posici\u00f3n ti(1), debido a un efecto electrost\u00e1tico m\u00e1s que esf\u00e9rico, los iones lant\u00e1nidos sustituyen al ti en los octaedros ti(1)o6 y ti(2)o6 con la misma probabilidad. Otro aspecto a destacar es la habilidad del material para autocompensarse el\u00e9ctricamente a la substituci\u00f3n pentavalente del nb5+ por la creaci\u00f3n de vacantes de rubidio.
