Se ha demostrado que el efecto del gangliosido gd3 como l\u00edpido mediador de la muerte est\u00e1 determinado por su interacci\u00f3n con el complejo iii de la cadena respiratoria mitocondrial dando lugar a la generaci\u00f3n de radicales libre que inducen la liberaci\u00f3n de factores apoptog\u00e9nicos desde la mitocondria. \u00e9Stos, a su vez, activan a la caspasa efectora 3 capaz de interaccionar con dianas celulares produciendo la muerte con apoptosis. el glutation mitocondrial juega un papel cr\u00edtico en el control de la supervivencia celular a trav\u00e9s de la modulaci\u00f3n del estr\u00e9s oxidativo inducido por los glicoesfingol\u00edpidos. El gangli\u00f3sido, a su vez, es capaz de inactivar rutas de supervivencia como el factor de transcripci\u00f3n nf-kb. Debido a que la activaci\u00f3n de nf-kb contribuye a la resistencia de las celulas tumorales a la terapia contra el c\u00e1ncer en esta tesis se ha examinado el papel del gangliosido gd3 en la modulaci\u00f3n de la respuesta de las c\u00e9lulas de hepatoblastoma humano, hep g2, a la radioterapia y quimioterapia. El gangli\u00f3sido gd3 sensibiliza a las c\u00e9lulas tumorales frente a la terapia debido a un efecto dual. Por un lado, a trav\u00e9s de la generaci\u00f3n de radicales libres desde la mitocondria, activaci\u00f3n del apoptosoma y activaci\u00f3n de caspasa 3 y por otro, gracias a la inactivaci\u00f3n de procesos de supervivencia como nf-kb, por lo que se posiciona al gangli\u00f3sido gd3 como l\u00edpido adyuvante en la terapia del c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
