Este antisuero detecta en condiciones reductoras un \u00fanico polip\u00e9ptido de 5,6 kda llamado hgb.A, que mediante secuenciaci\u00f3n amino terminal fue identificado como el producto maduro de traducci\u00f3n del mrna fhg22. La distribuci\u00f3n tisular y los niveles de expresi\u00f3n de hgb.A y de la hgb son iguales a los del mrna fhg22, con mayor expresi\u00f3n en hembra en gl\u00e1ndulas submaxilares y de harder. La purificaci\u00f3n de la hgb revel\u00f3 que est\u00e1 constituida por la subunidad hgb.A unida por puentes disulfuro a la subunidad hgb.B, un polip\u00e9ptido n-glicosilado de 33,5 kda que tras su completa desglicosilaci\u00f3n presenta un tama\u00f1o de 9 kda. Gracias al dise\u00f1o de una sonda de hgb.B para el escrutinio de la genoteca de cdna de gl\u00e1ndula de harder de hembra, se identificaron dos clones de cdna (hgb.B1 y hgb.B2) correspondientes a isoformas altamente hom\u00f3logas (96,2% de identidad) de la subunidad hgb.B. Ambas poseen orfs de 94 amino\u00e1cidos que, a pesar de presentar entre s\u00ed 12 diferencias, conservan tres sitios consenso de n-glicosilaci\u00f3n y p\u00e9ptidos se\u00f1al id\u00e9nticos. Estudios de homolog\u00eda revelaron que los polip\u00e9ptidos hgb.A, hgb.B1 y hgb.B2 pertenecen a la familia de las secretoglobinas-uteroglobinas. La expresi\u00f3n de los mrnas para las subunidades hgb.A y hgb.B es paralela a la expresi\u00f3n de la hgb y del polip\u00e9ptido hgb.A, pero el mrna hgb.B2 no se detecta en gl\u00e1ndulas submaxilares. El estudio de la expresi\u00f3n de hgb a lo largo del ciclo estral del h\u00e1mster demostr\u00f3 que la expresi\u00f3n de la hgb en gl\u00e1ndulas de harder ocurre s\u00f3lo en el d\u00eda 2 del
