En una primera parte, respecto del amor humano, se analiza el \u00e9xtasis como un salir fuera de s\u00ed, anteponi\u00e9ndose el bien de los dem\u00e1s al propio bien, y am\u00e1ndose a las creaturas por s\u00ed mismas (i.E., con \u00abamor de amistad\u00bb como dir\u00eda santo tom\u00e1s) mas no por los beneficios que pudieran proporcionarnos (i.E., Con \u00abamor de concupiscencia\u00bb). Esto es lo que permite a santo tom\u00e1s afirmar, en un segundo momento, que el amor divino tambi\u00e9n es causa de \u00e9xtasis, no s\u00f3lo porque dios es deseable a cualquier creatura de tal modo que todos los seres tienden hacia el en busca de la propia perfecci\u00f3n (para emplear el lenguaje aristot\u00e9lico), sino tambi\u00e9n porque dios las ama, procurando su bien, y viviendo fuera de s\u00ed mismo, incluso atra\u00eddo por lo que de bello hay en ellos. De esta idea, que subyace a la totalidad de la tesis, nace el \u00abrapto\u00bb, como la expresi\u00f3n m\u00e1s acabada del \u00e9xtasis humano, al estudio de cuya esencia y condiciones seg\u00fan santo tom\u00e1s, se dirige esta investigaci\u00f3. El estudio est\u00e1 precedido de un excursus hist\u00f3rico acerca del conocimiento m\u00edstico en plat\u00f3n, plotino  y pseudo-dionisio; contin\u00faa con un an\u00e1lisis de la visi\u00f3n de la esencia divina por parte del hombre en su condici\u00f3n carnal, y culimina con una explicaci\u00f3n acerca del modo en que la suspensi\u00f3n de las operaciones sensitivas permite a la facultad intelectiva aumentar y mejorar sus operaciones e incluso tener un conocimiento transemp\u00edrico y suprarracional de la naturaleza divina.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
