Los compuestos analizados han sido el bencilo, la benzoina y la desoxibenzoina.  la reduccion del bencilo en medios acidos y basicos sigue un esquema del tipo ec, siendo la etapa quimica una transformacion enol-ceto que conduce a la formacion de la benzoina.  para la benzoina, en medios fuertemente acidos se ha establecido un mecanismo ece. La etapa quimica entre las dos transferencias electronicas corresponde a una reaccion de transposicion pinacolinica que da lugar a la desoxibenzoina. Esta reaccion esta catalizada por los protones y por el anion perclorato.  en la reduccion electroquimica de la desoxibenzoina se han detectado distintos mecanismos en funcion del ph del medio. En medios acidos se ha establecido un mecanismo de electrohidrodimerizacion que conduce a la formacion del 1,2,3,4-tetrafenilbutanodiol.  la formacion del radical esta precedida por una etapa de protonacion que ocurre en la superficie del electrodo. En medios neutros y debilmente basicos la reduccion da lugar al alcohol (1,2-difeniletanol) y en medios basicos el mecanismo vuelve a ser de electrodimerizacion aunque en este intervalo de ph, a diferencia de los medios acidos, la reaccion transcurre sin la etapa de protonacion, es decir, a traves del radical anionico.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
