El coq interviene en la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda en forma de atp que tiene lugar en la mitocondria, puesto que funciona como transportador de electrones y protones en la cadena respiratoria extramitocondriales deteniendo los fen\u00f3menos de oxidaci\u00f3n producidos por las ros y regenerando las vitaminas antioxidantes presentes en membranas y en el medio extracelular.  el da\u00f1o oxidativo generado por las ros, que puede ser frenado por el coq, es uno de los eventos patol\u00f3gicos asociados a m\u00faltiples enfermedades musculares, cardiovasculares y neurodegenerativas.  adem\u00e1s, defectos en la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda por la mitocondria est\u00e1n relacionados con otras enfermedades deficitarias en coq.  por esta raz\u00f3n se analizaron varios aspectos de esta mol\u00e9cula en c\u00e9lulas humanasm hl-60 como un modelo de estudio encontrando que;  * la s\u00edntesis de coq ocurre s\u00f3lo en la mitocondria de estas c\u00e9lulas, desde donde se transporta al resto de las membranas de la c\u00e9lula mediante mecanismos donde interviene el citoesqueleto de actina y los microt\u00fabulos, el coq ex\u00f3geno a\u00f1adido al medio de cultivo es almacenado de foram espec\u00edfica por las c\u00e9lulas hl-60 en cultivo y almacenado en una fracci\u00f3n de membranas de muy baja densidad, aunque tambi\u00e9n se incorpora en el resto de membranas de la c\u00e9lula incluida la mitocondria, y la incorporaci\u00f3n de un coq distinto al propio de la c\u00e9lula interfiere con el coq10 end\u00f3geno de c\u00e9lulas humanas, afectando de forma
