Gracias al desarrollo de anticuerpos contra gaba o contra su enzima de s\u00edntesis, la descarboxilasa del \u00e1cido glut\u00e1mico (gad), se ha podido conocer, entre otras cosas, la organizaci\u00f3n encef\u00e1lica de las neuronas gaba\u00e9rgicas en numerosas especies de tetr\u00e1podos. Aunque en cicl\u00f3stomos y algunos peces \u00f3seos se ha estudiado la organizaci\u00f3n encef\u00e1lica de los sistemas neuronales que contienen gaba o est\u00e1n inervados por fibras gaba\u00e9rgicas, no existen estudios similares en peces cartilaginosos. En este estudios hemos analizado la organizaci\u00f3n de los sistemas neuronales que sintetizan gaba en el snc de un pez cartilaginoso, la pintarroja (scyliorhinus canicula, l.), Mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas inmunohistoqu\u00edmicas y de western blot con anticuerpos anti-gad.  as\u00ed hemos evidenciado la presencia en el enc\u00e9falo de pintarroja de las isoformas caracterizadas en vertebrados para la enzima gad, la gad65 y la gad67. Enzima que se encuentra distribuida por todo el snc de pintarroja, detect\u00e1ndose no s\u00f3lo en terminales nerviosos sino tambi\u00e9n en somas, los cuales son abundantes en el telenc\u00e9falo y en el cerebelo, encontr\u00e1ndose en menor cantidad en el hipot\u00e1lamo, rombenc\u00e9falo y m\u00e9dula espinal.  con el fin de complementar la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los distintos sistemas gaba\u00e9rgicos mencionados hemos analizado en paralelo la organizaci\u00f3n de sistemas que sintetizan catecolaminas as\u00ed como los que contiene algunos p\u00e9ptidos neuroactivos como la metionina-encef\u00e1lina (enk) y el neurop\u00e9ptido y (npy). El estudio comparado de una regi\u00f3n como el bulbo olfatorio nos ha permitido caracterizar la presencia de c\u00e9lulas periglomerulares inmunorreactivas a gad (gadir) y th, un tipo celular que no se hab\u00eda caracterizado hasta ahora en peces.
