Nuestros datos muestran que esta prostaglandina inhibe el crecimiento de este tipo de c\u00e9lulas y produce una parada de ciclo celular en las transiciones g1\/s y g2\/m y que estos efectos podr\u00edan estar mediados, al menos en parte, por su regulaci\u00f3n de la ciclina d1, el gen supresor de tumores brca1 y por su bloqueo de la ruta de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n mitog\u00e9nica inducida por receptores tirosina kinasa de la familia erbb. Hemos demostrado tambi\u00e9n que 15dpg-j2 induce un fenotipo diferenciado asociado con un aumento en los niveles de expresi\u00f3n de c\/ebpbeta y c\/ebp*, dos genes fundamentales en el proceso de diferenciaci\u00f3n de la gl\u00e1ndula mamaria.  finalmente hemos demostrado que 15dpg-j2 induce muerte celular de c\u00e9lulas de c\u00e1ncer de mama, por un lado a trav\u00e9s de un mecanismo de apoptosis cl\u00e1sica intr\u00ednseca (externalizaci\u00f3n de la fosfatidil serina, activaci\u00f3n de caspasas, liberaci\u00f3n de citocromo c) y tambi\u00e9n por otros mecanismos que implican una disfunci\u00f3n mitocondrial asociada con liberaci\u00f3n de radicales libres, disminuci\u00f3n del consumo de ox\u00edgeno, regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica mitocondrial y
