Dentro de este contexto, la tesis se ha centrado en el estudio de los alcaloides protop\u00ednicos: su reactividad y s\u00edntesis.  las protopinas poseen un nitr\u00f3geno terciario y un grupo ceto integrado en un anillo de 10 eslabones. De acuerdo con sus centros reactivos, las reacciones de protopinas pueden transcurrir a trav\u00e9s del nitr\u00f3geno, a trav\u00e9s del carbonilo o debido a la interacci\u00f3n transanular que presentan ambos grupos funcionales, reacciones en las que se involucran los dos. Se estudia la quimio-, regio- y esteroeselectividad de los procesos as\u00ed como las aplicaciones sint\u00e9ticas que de ellos derivan. La oxidaci\u00f3n quimioselectiva del grupo amino conduce a los n-\u00f3xidos cuya pir\u00f3lisis posterior nos ha permitido acceder a nuevas estructuras en funci\u00f3n de dos procesos competitivos: la transposici\u00f3n de meisenheimer o la eliminacion de cope. El uso de reactivos de contraataque electr\u00f3filosy con marcado car\u00e1cter oxifilico, nos ha permitido acceder deforma eficiente a berbinas, importantes intermedios en la bios\u00edntesis de otros alcaloides isoquinol\u00ednicos. La etapa clave es la ciclaci\u00f3n intramolecular favorecida por el ataque incial del reactivo sobre el ox\u00edgeno y el proceso global supone varias etapas que transcurren con muy buenos rendimientos. a partir de dihidroprotopinas, obtenidas por reducci\u00f3n de datos para la asignaci\u00f3n conformacional y configuracional.
