Entre estas destacan enzimas hidrol\u00edticas como celulasas, quitinasas, amilasas y xilanasas. Los genes que codifican estas enzimas est\u00e1n generalmente inducidos por los productos de degradaci\u00f3n de sus sustratos polim\u00e9ricos y reprimidos por fuentes de carbono f\u00e1cilmente asimilables como la glucosa, mediante un proceso denominado regulaci\u00f3n por fuente de carbono, xys1, una xilanasa codificada por el gen xysa de streptomyces halstedii jm8, ha sido caracterizada en nuestro laboratorio.  el objetivo del presente estudio ha sido la determinaci\u00f3n de las regiones del promotor implicadas en su represi\u00f3n por glucosa. Se ha utilizado el operon melc de s. Glaucescens como indicador para estudiar en s. Lividans versiones delecionadas y mutadas de dicho promotor. Cinco de estas deleciones y una doble mutaci\u00f3n puntual est\u00e1n desreprimidas. Posteriormente ensayos cuantitativos de la actividad xilan\u00e1sica en sobrenadantes de cultivo mostraron que estas versiones est\u00e1n parcialmente desreprimidas. As\u00ed, se han descrito tres regiones del promotor relacionadas con la represi\u00f3n por glucosa, y ensayos de retardo en gel han demostrado que algunas prote\u00ednas tanto de s. Lividans como de s. Halstedii se unen espec\u00edficamente a dichas regiones.  por otra parte, se han intentado aislar activadores transcripcionales del promotor de xysa mediante un escrutinio basado en al expresi\u00f3n del gen de resistencia a neomicina controlado por el promotor de xysa. Este cassette ese integr\u00f3 en el genoma de s. Lividans y esta cepa fue transformada con una genoteca gen\u00f3mica de s. Halstedii contenida en un vector multicopia. se buscaron colonias con una mayor resistencia a neomicina asumiendo que \u00e9stas hubiesen incorporado activadores de xysa.
