El m\u00e9todo implica una considerable reducci\u00f3n del n\u00famero de etapas sint\u00e9ticas con respecto a los m\u00e9todos descritos en la bibliograf\u00eda para acceder a estos tipos de compuestos.  se han utilizado diversos isotiocianatos de az\u00facar, protegidos y no protegidos en los grupos hidroxilo, como agentes derivatizantes quirales en la discriminaci\u00f3n mediante rmn de aminas \u00f3pticamente activas, mediante la preparaci\u00f3n de las correspondientes tioureas y la transformaci\u00f3n de tioureas derivadas de glucosamina en glucofuranoso-imidazolidina-2-tionas bic\u00edclicas. Se han llevado a cabo estudios de modelizaci\u00f3n molecular de estos componentes con objetos de estudiar su comportamiento conformacional.  se ha estudiado la reacci\u00f3n entre isotiocianatos de az\u00facar y aminoaz\u00facares reductores con objeto de preparar derivados del imidazol que pueden ser considerados simultaneamente como c- y n-nucle\u00f3sidos.  por otro lado, se ha empleado el trifosgeno en la s\u00edntesis de ureas de az\u00facar, incluidos derivados de la b-ciclodextrina. Hemos utilizado este reactivo s\u00f3lido de f\u00e1cil manejo como equivalente sint\u00e9tico del fosgeno para evitar el riesgo inherente del reactivo gaseoso. Los mejores resultados se obtienen utilizando un sistema one-pot en dos fases: diclorometano y soluci\u00f3n acuosa de bicarbonato s\u00f3dico.  se han preparado isoselenocianatos de alquilo y arilo a partir de las correspondientes n-alquil y n-aril formamidas mediante un procedimiento one-pot via isonitrilos utilizando trifosgeno como reactivo deshidratante.
