La idea de partida es que la educaci\u00f3n superior (y la educaci\u00f3n en general) conlleva no s\u00f3lo a generar beneficios laborales medidos en t\u00e9rminos salariales, sino que tambi\u00e9n genera beneficios no monetarios. El problema de los beneficios no monetarios es que son d\u00edficiles de identificar y de medir dado que la mayor\u00eda de ellos son subjetivos, es decir, dependen de las preferencias personales de cada individuo. Sin embargo, son beneficios que deben tenerse en cuenta si se quiere llevar a cabo un an\u00e1lisis completo de los efectos que tiene el invertir en educaci\u00f3n.  son numerosos los estudios que avalan que la educaci\u00f3n aumenta el bienestar personal porque quien invierte en su educaci\u00f3n tiene mayor probabilidad de acceder a trabajos no alineados, desempe\u00f1ando tareas interesantes, mejor pagadas y con mejores condiciones laborales. Todo ello hace que el individuo se sienta mucho m\u00e1s satisfecho con su propio trabajo. La relaci\u00f3n negativa entre educaci\u00f3n y malestar psicol\u00f3gico esta bien argumentada por la literatura cient\u00edfica. Sin embargo, el mecanismo por el cual la educaci\u00f3n afecta la bienestar no est\u00e1 del todo claro. Adem\u00e1s, cuando el binestar est\u00e1 medido a trav\u00e9s de la satisfacci\u00f3n, los investigadores encuentran una d\u00e9bil relaci\u00f3n positiva con el nivel educativo.  con el prop\u00f3sito de avanzar en la investigaci\u00f3n de estas relaciones, la tesis se ha dividido en dos partes tem\u00e1ticas.  la primera resume el marco te\u00f3rico e hist\u00f3rico de an\u00e1lisis de la satisfacci\u00f3n laboral. La sengunda proporciona el an\u00e1lisis emp\u00edrico, utilizando una muestra representativa de j\u00f3venes graduados europeos, identificando que factores afectan a las satisfacci\u00f3n laboral.
