Summers se propone rectificar la interreptaci\u00f3n iconol\u00f3gica de panofsky considerando el papel de la sensibilidad en la creaci\u00f3n art\u00edstica. sin embargo, al separar la sensibilidad de la acci\u00f3n libre del esp\u00edritu, tambi\u00e9n summers reduce la significaci\u00f3n de la obra de arte a t\u00e9rminos exclusivamente conceptuales, que no reconocen la relaci\u00f3n psicol\u00f3gica que tiene lugar en el contacto directo con la obra.
