Esta circunstancia conduce a una baja inversi\u00f3n en la planta y a una operatividad sencilla, consiguiendo rendimientos muy interesantes.  en el presente trabajo se revisan las circunstancias que rodean al oro como metal, sus yacimientos y explotaci\u00f3n, as\u00ed como las t\u00e9cnicas de beneficio tradicionales y m\u00e1s actuales. Se analiza m\u00e1s a fondo el proceso de biooxidaci\u00f3n, determinando los cultivos de microorganismos que intervienen, sus mecanismos de acci\u00f3n y las condiciones para la cin\u00e9tica del proceso.  en la parte experimental se describen los ensayos de laboratorio y piloto realizados con dos muestras reales, determinando los par\u00e1metros que intervienen y su influencia en los resultados. En su extraplotaci\u00f3n al proceso industrial, se determinan las operaciones unitarias que componen el tratamiento completo. como aplicaci\u00f3n tecnol\u00f3gica se procede al dise\u00f1o de un bioreactor industrial de 150 metros c\u00fabicos de capacidad, y se analizan las perspectivas de su utilizaci\u00f3n en otros procesos biotecnol\u00f3gicos en los que se tratan pulpas minerales y
