Coli compuesta por dos anillos de siete subunidades id\u00e9nticas cada uno, cuya funci\u00f3n consiste en asistir el plegamiento de cadenas polipept\u00eddicas en la c\u00e9lula, as\u00ed como en proteger a las prote\u00ednas nativas del estr\u00e9s t\u00e9rmico, impidiendo su agregaci\u00f3n. Para realizar su funci\u00f3n necesita unir e hidrolizar atp con cooperatividad positiva ente las subunidades de un mismo anillo y cooperatividad negativa entre anillos. en esta tesis se ha estudiado el papel de los puentes salinos en la comunicaci\u00f3n alost\u00e9rica de groel. Mediante t\u00e9cnicas de espectroscopia infrarroja diferencial resuelta en el tiempo se concluye que la uni\u00f3n de atp, y no de adp, provca variaciones en el entorno qu\u00edmico de puentes salinos que afectan tanto a la comunicaci\u00f3n inter-como intra-anillo. Posteriormente se determin\u00f3 el papel de los puentes alinos inter-anillo e434-k105 y e461k. De esta caracterizaci\u00f3n se concluye que dichos puentes salinos son necesarios para controlar el termostato de groel, que le permite distinguir temperaturas fisiol\u00f3gicas de temperaturas de choque t\u00e9rmico, a trav\u00e9s de la estabilizaci\u00f3n de la interfase inter-anillo, al asegurar las distancias adecuadas  entre anillos que permitan la comunicaci\u00f3n alost\u00e9rica. Asimismo, cada puente salino contribuye en distinto grado al control del termostato y a la estabilidad global de la chaperonina.
