Aqu\u00ed se da una descripci\u00f3n general de los conceptos m\u00e1s importantes, los m\u00e9todos experimentales y te\u00f3ricos m\u00e1s extendidos y el estado del arte actual.  2,- estudio del \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n de micro-esferas de s\u00edlice calcinadas a diferentes temperaturas. En este tema se caracteriza el \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n de las esferas de s\u00edlice que han sido tratadas a diferentes temperaturas. esto tendr\u00e1 especial importancia para entender las propiedades \u00f3pticas de \u00f3palos artificiales tratados t\u00e9rmicamente.  3,- m\u00e9todos de fabricaci\u00f3n de \u00f3palos artificiales. Muestras con tama\u00f1o de esferas superiores a los 500 nm de di\u00e1metro han sido fabricados por dos m\u00e9todos que utilizan la electroforesis y la deposici\u00f3n vertical.  4,- caracterizaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptica. Los m\u00e9todos para el estudio \u00f3ptico de las muestras son discutidos y aplicados a los diferentes tipos de muestras.  5,- ingenier\u00eda de bandas y crecimiento de multicapas de silicio y germanio. el crecimiento controlado de materiales de alto \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n permite el estudio de la evoluci\u00f3n de las propiedades \u00f3pticas de los \u00f3palos artificiales infiltrados.  6,- fabricaci\u00f3n de una estructura tipo diamante.
