Carmen <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>El uso de herbicidas est\u00e1 extendido universalmente. La preocupaci\u00f3n por el ambiente hace necesario encontrar m\u00e9todos que permitan eliminar los compuestos t\u00f3xicos o reducir su toxicidad por conversi\u00f3n en otros compuestos menos o nada t\u00f3xicos.  se ha llevado a cabo un estudio electroqu\u00edmico de dos herbicidas pirid\u00ednicos (clopiralida y piclor\u00e1n) y dos comupuestos similares en estructuras (\u00e1cido picol\u00ednico y \u00e1cido 6-cloropicol\u00ednico) mediante polarograf\u00eda de corriente continua y de pulso diferencial, voltametr\u00eda, electr\u00f3lisis a potencial controlado y cornopolarograf\u00eda empleando electrodos de mercurio. Adem\u00e1s se us\u00f3 espectroscop\u00eda uv-visible cuando fue necesaria la determinaci\u00f3n de las constantes de disociaci\u00f3n \u00e1cido-base y cromatograf\u00eda de gases acoplada a espectrometr\u00eda de masas para la identificaci\u00f3n de productos de reducci\u00f3n.  el estudio de los mecanismos de reducci\u00f3n por v\u00eda electroqu\u00edmica permite obtener informaci\u00f3n de su comportamiento en un amplio intervalo de ph. en general, los mecanismos del \u00e1cido picol\u00ednico y \u00e1cido 6-cloropicol\u00ednico son bastante similares, con un primer pico con un mecanismos tipo ec que conduce al aldeh\u00eddo hidratado que se deshidrata parcialmente y se reduce para llegar al alcohol y un segundo pico con un mecanismo ece  que conduce a los mismos compuestos. Para la clopiralida y el piclor\u00e1n se detecta un mecanismo de tipo e(cc)ee en el que en la primera onda se obtiene el aldeh\u00eddo hidratado que se deshidrata parcialmente y se reduce hasta el carbinol como en los dos compuestos anteriores y la segunda onda corresponde a la reducci\u00f3n del aldeh\u00eddo hidratado con la p\u00e9rdida d eun \u00e1tomo de cloro.
