A pesar de sus grandes similaridades bioqu\u00edmicas y biol\u00f3gicas, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se han acumulado un gran n\u00famero de evidencias que apuntan a que estas prote\u00ednas no son funcionalmente redundantes. Una de las estrategias m\u00e1s extendidas para esta familia de gtpasas es la utilizaci\u00f3n de los mutantes dominantes inhibitorios de ras, que son capaces de bloquear espec\u00edficamente la activaci\u00f3n de sus respectivas prote\u00ednas salvajes. As\u00ed, h-ras n17 ha demostrado ser un reactivo extremadamente \u00fatil para estudiar las funciones de ras. A pesar de lo extendido de su utilizaci\u00f3n, hasta la fecha no se ha realizado ning\u00fan estudio comparativo de las especificidades inhibitorias los mutantes h-ras n17, k-ras n17 y n-ras n17. En este trabajo demostramos que los mutantes h-, k- y n-ras n17 presentan marcadas diferencias en sus especificidades inhibitorias con respecto a h-, k- y n-ras. H-ras n17 es capaz de inhibir la activaci\u00f3n de las tres isoformas de ras. K-ras n17 inhibe completamente la activaci\u00f3n de k-ras y ligeramente la de h-ras.  n-ras n17 inhibe principalmente a n-ras.
