Por ello, la variabilidad espacial y temporal de la atmosfera es una importante limitacion para sensores con un unico canal termico. Para sensores con dos canales en la region 10,5-12,5  m, hemos desarrollado un algoritmo de tipo split-window no lineal, que es aplicable a escala mundial, y tiene en cuenta el efecto de la emisividad de la superficie. Este algoritmo ha sido validado con medidas de temperatura \u00abin situ\u00bb y sus correspondientes desde satelite, obteniendo un error de estimacion de 1 k en latitudes medias, y 2 k en condiciones tropicales.
