Las hidrofobinas se caracterizan por presentar ocho residuos de cisteina conservados en sus secuencias que forman puentes disulfuro intramoleculares, y est\u00e1n implicadas en la formaci\u00f3n de estructuras a\u00e9reas y en la uni\u00f3n de las hilas a estructuras hidrof\u00f3bicas formando agregados.  este trabajo describe por primera en el hongo dim\u00f3rfico, pat\u00f3geno oportunista, candida albicans, la caracterizaci\u00f3n de una especie de 250 amino\u00e1cidos (cahpb) perteneciente a esta familia de proteinas.  a partir del inmunorrastreo de una genoteca de cdna de c.Albicans con un anticuerpo policlonal que reconoce espec\u00edficamente componentes proteicos de la pared celular de la forma micelial del hongo, se aisl\u00f3 el gen (cahpb) que codifica para la hidrofobina, el cual fue secuenciado y clonado. A partir de la secuencia de amino\u00e1cidos se procedi\u00f3 a sintetizar un oligop\u00e9ptido perteneciente a una regi\u00f3n altamente antig\u00e9nica, que se utiliz\u00f3 para generar anticuerpos policlonales. Estos anticuerpos fueron utilizados como sonda para llevar a cabo una caracterizaci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica de proteina.  los resultados obtenidos han permitido identificar la proteina como una
