Se emplea el metodo de correlacion multicanal (separacion de la imagen de entrada en componentes monocromaticos), para el analisis de las imagenes en color. En cada canal monocromatico se aplican filtros de armonicos circulares, que proporcionan invariancia a rotaciones (deteccion independiente del angulo de giro). El uso de varios canales monocromaticos permite evitar falsas alarmas de deteccion, inevitables cuando la escena se ilumina con las monocromatica.  la capacidad de discriminacion conseguida con los filtros de correlacion clasicos y de fase puede mejorarse por filtros de correlacion de minima energia (mace). La inclusion de los filtros de wiener permite mantener una baja sensibilidad al ruido. El analisis de los planos de correlacion obtenidos puede hacerse por metodos de fusion, para simplificar el tratamiento de datos.
