Se han estudiado los par\u00e1metros ecotoxicol\u00f3gicos relativos a estos tres metales pesados, y a mezclas de los mismos. Se ha analizado la capacidad de bioacumulaci\u00f3n para estos metales pesados en diversos ciliados, y se han detectado acumulos metalicos aplicando, por primera vez en ciliados, t\u00e9cnicas fluorescentes. Por otro lado, se ha llevado a cabo un estudio de prote\u00ednas potencialmente queladoras de cd\/zn (prote\u00ednas ricas en grupos ti\u00f3licos como las metalotioneinas), lleg\u00e1ndose a aislar y secuenciar parcialmente una cd-mt.  adem\u00e1s, se han aislado, clonaod y secuenciado tres isoformas g\u00e9nicas de cd-mt, de las cuales una de ellas (mtb) es completamente nueva. Estos genes presentan un elevado conservadurismo en la secuencia aminoac\u00eddica, entre ciliados filogen\u00e9ticamente muy distantes. Se ha realizado un an\u00e1lisis, tanto de las secuencias aminoac\u00eddicas inferidas.  todos estos resultados pueden contribuir en un futuro pr\u00f3ximo al dise\u00f1o de biosensores celulares y\/o
