Se estiman flujos de empleo por sector, tama\u00f1o, salario, naturaleza jur\u00eddica de la empresa, productividad, subvenciones a la explotaci\u00f3n, gastos en i+d, intensidad energ\u00e9tica, poder de mercado y explotaciones. Para poner en contexto los resultados obtenidos, se realiza una comparaci\u00f3n con otros trabajos a nivel nacional e internacional.  el cap\u00edtulo 2 investiga los determinantes te\u00f3ricos de la heterogeneidad de los establecimientos en los flujos de empleo, y corrobora emp\u00edricamente algunas de las hip\u00f3tesis encontradas.  el cap\u00edtulo 3 presenta un modelo te\u00f3rico, basado en \u00edndices de utilidad, que permite estudiar cuales son los factores que determinan que los establecimientos incrementen y disminuyan su empleo. El an\u00e1lisis emp\u00edrico muestra que las variables que tienen un mayor impacto en la probabilidad de crear y destruir puestos de trabajo son, por orden de importancia, la ratio de endeudamiento, la productividad y los gastos en i+d.  el cap\u00edtulo 4 investiga la relaci\u00f3n entre el tama\u00f1o del establecimiento y los salarios. Despu\u00e9s de revisar los fundamentos te\u00f3ricos, se examinan tres posibles hip\u00f3tesis que potencialmente pueden explicar la relaci\u00f3n observada entre el tama\u00f1o de los salarios en el sector industrial catal\u00e1n: productividad del trabajo, i+d y poder de mercado. Todas las variables correspondientes a estas hip\u00f3tesis resultan significativas y explican parte de la relaci\u00f3n observada.
