Con ellas se han estudiado las propiedades de emisi\u00f3n de luz, mediante catodoluminiscencia (cl), y las propiedades electr\u00f3nicas, mediante espectroscop\u00eda t\u00fanel (sts) y corriente inducida por el haz de electrones en modo remoto con el stm (stm-rebic).  se ha demostrado la obtenci\u00f3n de pel\u00edculas nanocristalinas de silicio mediante la implantaci\u00f3n de iones boro en silicio amorfo. Los resultados de cl presentan una banda centrada alrededor de 3.1 ev que se ha asociado al confinamiento cu\u00e1ntico producido por la presencia de nanocristales en una matriz de silicio amorfo. Otra banda de cl presente en los espectros de estas muestras est\u00e1 centrada en unos 2.6 ev, asoci\u00e1ndose a la presencia de \u00f3xidos de silicio. mediante la t\u00e9cnica de sts se ha demostrado el ensanchameinto del intervalo de energ\u00edas prohibidas superficial, igualmente producido por confinamiento cu\u00e1ntico asociado con la presencia de nanocristales de silicio en las muestras. al aplicar un recocido t\u00e9rmico a las mismas tras la implantaci\u00f3n, no se encontraba emisi\u00f3n visible de cl ni ensanchamiento del intervalo de energ\u00edas prohibidas con sts, debido a la desaparici\u00f3n del confinamiento a causa del aumento de tama\u00f1o de los nanocristales.  las muestras de silicio sobre el que se ha depositado erbio por evaporaci\u00f3n mostraban una emisi\u00f3n de cl, as\u00ed como de fotoluminiscencia (pl), intensa. las energ\u00edas de las emisiones corresponden con las transiciones intrai\u00f3nicas 4f-4f del i\u00f3n er3+. El erbio se deposit\u00f3 sobre sustratos de silicio amorfo y cristalino y en atm\u00f3sferas de nitr\u00f3geno y ox\u00edgeno. La emisi\u00f3n procede de una capa de \u00f3xido de erbio situada en la intercara del sustrato y el erbio depositado.
