La presi\u00f3n es una variable, alternativa a la sustituci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica, que permite modificar de forma cont\u00ednua las distancias interat\u00f3micas y consecuentemente las propiedades f\u00edsicas de un material.  se ha estudiado la evoluci\u00f3n de la estructura cristalina de las perovskitas de n\u00edquel bajo presi\u00f3n. Se han utilizado celdas de yunques de diamente para producir una presi\u00f3n hidrost\u00e1tica m\u00e1xima de 40 gpa, y se han realizado experimentos de difracci\u00f3n de polvo resuelta en \u00e1ngulo en la l\u00ednea id09 del esrf (european synchrotron radiation facility), complementados con experimentos de espectroscop\u00eda raman tanto en funci\u00f3n de la presi\u00f3n como la temperatura.  en particular se han estudiado las perovskitas rnio3 con r=lu, y, sm, nd, pr y la. Se han dobtenido una serie de transiciones de fase que indican una disminuci\u00f3n de la distorsi\u00f3n de la estructura perovskita al aumentar la presi\u00f3n y que han permitido trazar un completo diagrama de fases en funci\u00f3n de la presi\u00f3n.  la gran resoluci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea id09 nos ha permitido estudiar la evoluci\u00f3n con la presi\u00f3n de la peque\u00f1a distorsi\u00f3n monocl\u00ednica de lunio3, que desaparece a 16 gpa y a 13 gpa respectivamente, indicando la desaparici\u00f3n con la presi\u00f3n de la desproporci\u00f3n de carga de ni3+ presente en \u00e9stos
