No obstante en la especie porcina, este factor puede adem\u00e1s estimular la secreci\u00f3n de gh  cuando se administra en cultivos de c\u00e9lulas hipofisarias.  srif ejerce sus acciones mediante su uni\u00f3n a una familia de receptores acoplados a prote\u00ednas g con site dominios transmembrana, que se denomina sst1, sst2a, sst2b, sst3, sst4 y sst5. En el cerdo hasta la fecha s\u00f3lo se hab\u00eda clonado el sst2a, aunque sus caracter\u00edsticas funcionales no han sido estudiadas. El objetivo del presente trabajo ha sido clonar e identificar los receptores de somatostatina en la especie porcina, estudiar su expresi\u00f3n en diferentes tejidos, as\u00ed como su distribuci\u00f3n en las dos subpobalciones de c\u00e9lulas somatotropas existentes en la hip\u00f3tesis porcina. El conjunto de nuestros resultados indica que, pese a la elevada homolog\u00eda existente entre los distintos subtipos de ssts, esta familia presenta un elevado grado de complejidad, de manera que, en cada tipo, e incluso subtipo celular, cada receptor expresado puede ejercer funciones espec\u00edficas que, a su vez est\u00e1n condicionadas por la presencia en la c\u00e9lula de los otros tipos de receptores y es probablemente el balance que se establece entre todos ellos lo que determina en \u00faltimo t\u00e9rmino la respuesta celular precisa. En concreto en la especie porcina, las caracter\u00edsticas particulares de algunos de los sst y\/o las rutas intracelulares asocaidas, as\u00ed como el tipo de interacciones que se establecen al menos entre algunos de ellos permiten que, en esta especie, srif pueda ejercer un efecto estimulador sobre la secrecci\u00f3n de gh.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
