Siempre ha importado la belleza: la que existe y la que se crea. En las \u00faltimas d\u00e9cadas numerosos autores han se\u00f1alado que el trajimar del eje de lo bello por diferentes \u00e1mbitos (la metaf\u00edsica, las artes) se ha detenido y asentado en el terreno de la comunicaci\u00f3n, y de forma paradigm\u00e1tica en la publicidad. para los movimientos de vanguardia lo bello ya no es una noci\u00f3n actual. sin embargo, frente a este supuesto desprestigio o p\u00e9rdida de vigor de la belleza en determinados \u00e1mbitos, hay otros en los que se ha vuelto hegem\u00f3nica.  la cuesti\u00f3n de la belleza estructura el discurso de las mercanc\u00edas, de los cuerpos, de la comunicaci\u00f3n. La sociedad mass medi\u00e1tica se apropia de la belleza y la hace omnipresente. Los valores est\u00e9ticos, estrechamente relacionados con las configuraciones hist\u00f3ricas, sociales, econ\u00f3micas y culturales, determinan, en buena medida, las condiciones materiales, sem\u00e1nticas, y est\u00e9ticas por las cuales la belleza \u00abse da a ver\u00bb al mismo tiempo que aquellas por las cuales la belleza \u00abse enuncia\u00bb.  el objetivo general de esta tesis es analizar el significado actual del concepto de belleza y sus formas dominantes de representaci\u00f3n. Para ello hemos realizado un an\u00e1lisis de los puntos de inflexi\u00f3n m\u00e1s significativos en el devenir del concepto de belleza desde sus inicios en la metaf\u00edsica hasta su cristalizaci\u00f3n acutal en los media. Nos hemos centrado en la publicidad televisiva como escenario pradigm\u00e1tico en el cual se entrecruzan las dimensiones de la mercanc\u00eda y del espect\u00e1culo.
