Por otro lado, algunos de los m\u00e1s avanzados tratados en esta materia consideran que la hip\u00e9rbola esf\u00e9rica no ha encontrado aplicaci\u00f3n en el campo de la navegaci\u00f3n astron\u00f3mica, aduciendo diversas razones para justificar tal aserto. En esta tesis se demuestra, de manera irrevocable, que la bisectriz de altura es una hip\u00e9rbola esf\u00e9rica, o, de manera m\u00e1s precisa, que la bisectriz de altura es a la hip\u00e9rbola esf\u00e9rica lo que la recta de altura es a la circunferencia de alturas iguales. Se desarrollan las f\u00f3rmulas precisas para obtener los diferentes determinantes independientemente de la recta de altura, y se propone, en proyecci\u00f3n de mercator, un prototipo de carta para la navegaci\u00f3n astron\u00f3mica que convierte el problema del c\u00e1lculo de la situaci\u00f3n observada en una rutina simple. En todo caso se contrastan las expresiones te\u00f3ricas desarrolladas con resultados pr\u00e1cticos derivados de su aplicaci\u00f3n experimental. forman parte de este trabajo diversos ejemplos
