Isabel <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Una gran cantidad de industrias son responsables de contaminar el medio ambiente, a trav\u00e9s de los metales pesados contenidos en sus aguas residuales; metales que tanto por motivos econ\u00f3micos como medioambientales interesa recuperar. Se ha estudiado la utilizaci\u00f3n de cascarilla de laminaci\u00f3n, procedente del proceso de laminaci\u00f3n en caliente de los aceros, como adsorbente para la eliminaci\u00f3n de metales pesados (cu (ii), cd (ii), zn (ii) y pb (ii),  contenidos en efluentes l\u00edquidos. Se estudia la influencia del tiempo de contacto, la concentraci\u00f3n inicial de los iones met\u00e1licos y la temperatura en la capacidad de eliminaci\u00f3n de la cascarilla. La eliminaci\u00f3n de iones cu (ii) en soluci\u00f3n acuosa es principalmente un proceso de oxidaci\u00f3n-reducci\u00f3n (o cementaci\u00f3n) entre los iones cu(ii) en soluci\u00f3n y el fe (0) contenido en la cascarilla. La adsorci\u00f3n de cd (ii), zn (ii) y pb (ii) sobre cascarilla de laminaci\u00f3n se determina mediante la obtenci\u00f3n de las isotermas de adsorci\u00f3n.  para describir el proceso de adsorci\u00f3n se consideran las teor\u00edas de langmuir y freundlich. Se han estudiado tambi\u00e9n las cin\u00e9ticas de eliminaci\u00f3n  de los cationes mediante la cascarilla. Se estudia el proceso de desorci\u00f3n delos metales de cascarillas cargadas utilizando distintos desorbentes y diferentes condiciones experimentales.
