Pilar <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La degradacion del xilano hasta los azucares monomericos que lo constituyen necesita de la actividad de diversos enzimas, entre los que se cuentan las xilanasas y las arabinofuranosidasas. El genero bacillus es un conocido productor de estas actividades.  se han purificado a homogeneidad 4 xilanasas de b.  polymyxa, denominadas x22, x34c, x34e y x61 en base a su pm. X22 es la mas activa. Solo x61 no es afectada por la estructura del sustrato para su actividad. X34c y x34e podrian ser dos isoenzimas.  se ha purificado una arabinofuranosidasa denominada af166. Tiene actividad sobre arabinooligosacaridos y xilooligosacaridos con ramificaciones de arabinosa.  tambien se han purificado dos polipeptidos con actividad arabinofuranosidasa sobre arabinoxilano a partir de un clon de b subtilis que contiene el gen de b. Polymyxa que los codifica. El procesamiento de af64 para renir af53 debe producirse por el extremo c-terminal, puesto que su extremo n-terminal es identico.  los estudios de cooperacion muestran que la actividad xilanasa no facilita la arabinofuranosidasa, pero si al reves.
