A partir de aqu\u00ed se utilizaron y compararon dos sistemas de purificaci\u00f3n, la cromatograf\u00eda de intercambio i\u00f3nico y la electroeluci\u00f3n. tras la separaci\u00f3n del componente se procedi\u00f3 a su estudio inmunol\u00f3gico con el empleo de sueros poliespec\u00edficos obtenidos tras la hiperinmunizaci\u00f3n de ovinos y monoespec\u00edficos, obtenidos por absorci\u00f3n de los anteriores y con el uso de t\u00e9cnicas como doble difusi\u00f3n en gen de agarosa, dot-blot e inmunoelectroforesis de 1 y 2 dimensiones; tambi\u00e9n se realiz\u00f3 un estudio bioqu\u00edmico del az\u00facar purificado mediante la t\u00e9cnica de resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear.  Posteriormente se pusieron a punto dos test elisa, uno indirecto y otro de inhibici\u00f3n o competici\u00f3n para la detecci\u00f3n y cuantificaci\u00f3n respectivamente de dicho componente.
