La idea principal consiste en emplear un procedimiento para modificar las variables de estado del motor en el menor tiempo posible contando con la limitaciones de m\u00e1xima corriente admisible. Se consigue de esta forma que los procesos transitorios sean lo m\u00e1s breve posible. Adicionalmente se afronta la minimizaci\u00f3n de p\u00e9rdidas haciendo funcionar el motor a corriente m\u00ednima cuando el r\u00e9gimen es permanente.  dicho planteamiento permite ampliar el campo de aplicaci\u00f3n de la regulaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima al gran n\u00famero de accionamientos el\u00e9ctricos cuyo par de carga y velocidad var\u00edan con relativa frecuencia. Se trata de un ampl\u00edsimo campo de accionamientos el\u00e9ctricos que abarca, por ejemplo, bombas, ventiladores, compresores, mecanismos de transporte (gasoductos, cintas, rodillos etc.), mecanismos principales y auxiliares en la industria del metal (metalurgia, siderurgia, laminaci\u00f3n, fundici\u00f3n, m\u00e1quinas &#8211; herramienta), industrias qu\u00edmica, maderera, alimenticia etc.  el flujo asignado en los motores de jaula de ardilla requiere una corriente de imantaci\u00f3n elevada que en algunos casos puede superar la mitad de la corriente asignada del motor. Esa cantidad de flujo permite lograr una r\u00e1pida reacci\u00f3n del par durante los procesos transitorios relacionados con la variaci\u00f3n del par de carga y velocidad, entre otras causas, por no tener apenas que vencer la inercia electromagn\u00e9tica del motor. No obstante, si el motor trabaja a menudo con pares de carga reducidos o incluso pr\u00e1cticamente nulos, resulta contraproducente mantener en \u00e9l un flujo tan grande por las elevadas p\u00e9rdidas que ello supone, siendo m\u00e1s conveniente regularlo en funci\u00f3n del par desarrollado, es decir, reducirlo o aumentar conforme disminuye o aumenta el par, para conseguir que las
