El mecanismo molecular responsable de la regulaci\u00f3n de la actividad de p73 sigue siendo actualmente poco entendido.  recientemente, p73 fue descrito como sustrato de la actividad enzim\u00e1tica de c-abl, una de las pocas tirosina quinasas no receptores, la cual es activada potentemente en respuesta a da\u00f1o al adn. En esta tesis demostramos como c-abl, mediante la activaci\u00f3n de p38 mapk, induce la fosforilaci\u00f3n de p73 en residuos treonina adyacentes a prolina. La sola activaci\u00f3n de p38 mapk es suficiente para inducir la estabilizaci\u00f3n de p73 y su actividad transcripcional. Nuestros datos indican que la familia de la sapk y m\u00e1s concretamente p38 mapk esta implicada en la regulaci\u00f3n de p73.  a continuaci\u00f3n, decidimos profundizar en el papel de c-abl en un contexto patol\u00f3gico como es el generado por la prote\u00edna quim\u00e9rica bcr\/abl, de actividad tirosina quinasa constitutiva. Bcr\/abl ha sido relacionada con m\u00faltiples rutas de transducci\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales como akt, jnk y erk1\/2, no habi\u00e9ndose establecido ninguna conexi\u00f3n con la ruta de p38 mapk. Mediante transfecciones transitorias demostramos como la sobre expresi\u00f3n de bcr\/abl en 293t es capaz de activar a p38 mapk e inducir la estabilizaci\u00f3n de p73, lo que sugiere que c-abl y bcr\/abl comparten efectores biol\u00f3gicos. El control ejercido por bcr\/abl sobre p38 mapk es mediado de forma tanto dependiente como independiente de c-abl. Lo que se demuestra por la activaci\u00f3n de sus reguladores naturales, mkk6 y mkk3, el uso del inhibidor qu\u00edmico de c-abl, sti571 o la sobre expresi\u00f3n de bcr. En un modelo experimental basado en una l\u00ednea derivada de una leucemia mieloide cr\u00f3nica, como k562 o c\u00e9lulas transfectadas con bcr\/abl presentan mayores niveles de p-p38 mapk, respecto a c\u00e9lulas negativas para bcr\/abl.
