Para ello, se seccion\u00f3 el fasc\u00edculo longitudinal medial, y en algunos casos, se a\u00f1adi\u00f3 en el sitio de la lesi\u00f3n, tras la axotom\u00eda, un implante de primordio cerebeloso. Las neuronas sobrevivieron a la axotom\u00eda, pero perdieron el patr\u00f3n de disparo cerebeloso. Sin embargo, en los animales implantados, este efecto no se observ\u00f3.  el marcaje anter\u00f3grado de las ints revel\u00f3 que los axones seccionados no pudieron cruzar la cicatriz glial. Por el contrario, en los animales implantados, en los que el tejido embrionario increment\u00f3 siete veces su volumen inicial y desarroll\u00f3 una estructura similar a la encontrada en un cerebelo control, los axones de las ints crecieron en el interior del implante y establecieron contactos sin\u00e1pticos. El examen ultraestructural de las ints en el nmoe mostr\u00f3 que la cobertura sin\u00e1ptica y el tama\u00f1o som\u00e1tico de las c\u00e9lulas lesionadas se redujo con respecto al control. Sin embargo, estos valores fueron normales en los animales provistos con el implante.  estos resultados indican que los axones de las ints regeneran cuando se encuentran en un medio permisivo para ello, y que el establecimiento de nuevas sinapsis, aun con un medio distinto del normal, puede permitir la recuperaci\u00f3n de las propiedades morfol\u00f3gicas y fisiol\u00f3gicas de las
