Hipotesis: el entrenamiento en estrategias de aprendizaje eficaces ayudara al estudiante en la adquisicion del lexico.  metodolog\u00eda y procedimiento:  &#8211; un estudio preliminar descriptivo para identificar las estrategias utilizadas por estudiantes espa\u00f1oles de ingles en la adquisicion del lexico, en forma de encuestas. Se analizan los resultados con el fin de dise\u00f1ar estudios experimentales.  &#8211; tres estudios experimentales sobre la aplicacion de una estrategia de memorizacion, una estrategia de inferencia y las estrategias compensatorias, mediante estudios longitudinales y transversales.  resultados: resultaron eficaces la estrategia de memorizacion de agrupamiento y la estrategia de inferencia en combinacion con el contexto.
