<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>En el presente trabajo se reivindican como obras de arquitectura de pleno derecho a las construciones flotantes desde la aplicaci\u00f3n de la m\u00e1quina de vapor a la navegaci\u00f3n convirtiendose a los barcos de pasaje en fragmentos m\u00f3viles de territorio sin vinculaci\u00f3n paisaj\u00edsta concreta -sin genius loci-, estructurados en forma de ciudades m\u00f3viles,muy claramente diversificadas y estratificadas socialmente, sobre un soporte f\u00edsico qu constitu\u00eda la vanguardia tecnol\u00f3gica de su mometo.  el estudio est\u00e1 dividido en dos partes.En la primera se trata el hecho hist\u00f3rico que constituyo el barco de vapor, el cual,gracias a su rovolucinario sistema de propulsi\u00f3n, quedo liberado del dictado de los vientos y las mareas, adquiriendo una condici\u00f3n aut\u00f3noma sin precedentes hasta entonces.Para ello se ha analizado compositiva y foson\u00f3micamente la transici\u00f3n del veleo trasoce\u00e1nico hacia el buque mec\u00e1nico:sus cambios organizativos, el progresico aumento de tama\u00f1o y velocidad de las unidadesl creciente complejidad y sofisticaci\u00f3n de sus instalaciones y espacios interriores, atendiendo tanto a sus caracteristicas propias, como a las conexiones estilisticas y de autoria respecto a las obras de tierra adentro.Tambi\u00e9n son analizados los cambios fison\u00f3micos es decir compositivos -de dicho tipo de naves en periodo 1850-1939, a traav\u00e9s sobre todo de la transformaci\u00f3n formal observada en sus elementos b\u00e1sicos caracter\u00edsticos:-caso -distinguiendo entre proa, popa y tercio central &#8211; y superestructura y la disposici\u00f3n y adaptaciones sucesivas de la secci\u00f3n del buque, donde es obligado conciliar las complejas razones, n\u00e1uticas, y arquitect\u00f3nicas.  la segunda, dando por sentado el conocimiento del variado contexto general que determina los rasgos fundamentales de los barcos de pasaje en la etapa elegida, se dedica a la descripci\u00f3n y el an\u00e1lisis de lasituaci\u00f3n espa\u00f1ola durante aqu\u00e9lla , tomando como hilo conductor la ejecutoria de la
