M\u00e1s concretamente, uno de lso objetivos cient\u00edficos de este trabajo ha sido la comprensi\u00f3n fundamental de la estructura qu\u00edmica del nitruro de carbono sintetizados por pulverizaci\u00f3n cat\u00f3dica reactiva asistida mediante campos magn\u00e9ticos. A lo largo de la memoria se presenta la  caracterizaci\u00f3n exhaustiva de diferentes series de muestras preparadas en condicines experimentales distintas (fuente de potencia alimentada por dc\/rf, gas de s\u00edntesis n2\/n2-ar, aplicaci\u00f3n o no de una polarizaci\u00f3n negativa del sustrato durante el crecimiento de la pel\u00edcula, dopado con silicio de las l\u00e1minas de cnx, etc..). La utilizaci\u00f3n de un amplio espectro de t\u00e9cnicas de caracterizaci\u00f3n (ir, eels, xps, nmr, xas, tem, sem, etc..) ha permitido obtener datos en cuanto a contenido de nitr\u00f3geno y tipo de enlaces que han concluido en al obtenci\u00f3n de modelos estructurales posibles para el material en funci\u00f3n de los par\u00e1metros de deposici\u00f3n.  resulta de particular inter\u00e9s desde el punto de vista de las aplicaciones industriales de los materiales sintetizados, el estudio llevado a cabo en esta tesis de la estabilidad t\u00e9rmica de los recubrimientos en diferentes atm\u00f3sferas as\u00ed como el desarrollo de l\u00e1minas de acomodaci\u00f3n que incrementen la adhesi\u00f3n entre la l\u00e1mina superior de cnx y el sustrato de acero en condiciones reales de trabajo. Finalmente, se han investigado las propiedades mec\u00e1nicas y tribol\u00f3gicas tanto de los materiales cnx y siycnx en s\u00ed mismos como de los sistemas multilaminares cnx\/tinx-ti\/acero y se
