La materia prima utilizada en esta investigaci\u00f3n es residuo de la unidad viscoreductora procedente de una refiner\u00eda.  esta tesis desarrolla primeramente an\u00e1lisis exerg\u00e9ticos de diferentes esquemas de planta igcc, as\u00ed como un estudio de los par\u00e1metros identificados como significativos, para finalizar con la selecci\u00f3n del esquema id\u00f3neo. Para dicho esquema se realiza un posterior an\u00e1lisis econ\u00f3mico y termoecon\u00f3mico.  el an\u00e1lisis termoecon\u00f3mico indica que debido al bajo coste de la materia prima, el coste asociado a la exerg\u00eda destruida en las unidades de la planta no es tan grande como en otros casos en los que la materia prima tiene un coste mayor, v\u00e9ase carb\u00f3n o gas natural. Esto motiva que se puedan lograr ahorros del coste de generaci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica reduciendo la inversi\u00f3n de capital global de la planta, aunque esto repercuta negativamente en la eficiencia termodin\u00e1mica del sistema. Adem\u00e1s, debido a la elevada inversi\u00f3n requerida en este tipo de plantas, es condici\u00f3n necesaria para la viabilidad de la misma el que \u00e9sta opere en base. La conclusi\u00f3n inmediata es construir entonces la planta m\u00e1s sencilla y fiable posible, para luego mejorar la eficiencia s\u00f3lo en las unidades que se identifiquen como m\u00e1s prometedoras, que han resultado ser la turbina de gas y la caldera de recuperaci\u00f3n de calor.  la optimizaci\u00f3n termoecon\u00f3mica realizada conduce a un \u00f3ptimo termodin\u00e1mico global que produce en la planta igcc un 14 % m\u00e1s de energ\u00eda el\u00e9ctrica sobre el caso base, con una eficiencia neta 1,4 puntos porcentuales mayor. Adem\u00e1s, los resultados del an\u00e1lisis econ\u00f3mico y termoecon\u00f3mico confirman que se ha logrado un aumento de eficiencia y una reducci\u00f3n del coste de generaci\u00f3n de la
