La primera parte consiste en replantear los procesos que gobiernan la morfodin\u00e1mica de la zona de rompientes y expresarlos en t\u00e9rminos de columna de agua. El objetivo de esta primera parte consiste en analizar si es posible predecir, localmente, en la zona de rompientes y en un estado de mar, las caracter\u00edsticas de las oscilaciones que constituyen la columna de agua, la probabilidad de rotura y los estad\u00edsticos de variables como la celeridad, el undertow y el tensor de radiaci\u00f3n, conocidas las caracter\u00edsticas de perfil de playa y de las oscilaciones offshore.  para ello, se propone un modelo estad\u00edstico local de an\u00e1lisis de las oscilaciones del mar (marea astron\u00f3mica, marea meteorol\u00f3gica, onda larga y onda corta) que constituyen la columna de agua en la zona de rompientes. Se realiza una descripci\u00f3n estad\u00edstica de cada una de las oscilaciones mencionadas en diferentes escalas temporales como el estado de mar, el temporal y el largo plazo, detallando especialmente el estado de mar como referencia b\u00e1sica del an\u00e1lisis.  se plantea, igualmente, un nuevo criterio de rotura en t\u00e9rminos de columna de agua. Esto permite obtener, a partir de las caracter\u00edsticas de las oscilaciones aleatorias, la probabilida de que se produzca la rotura en un estado de mar as\u00ed como defenir los sucesos de rotura.  el modelo estad\u00edstico propuesto de predicci\u00f3n se valida con datos del proyecto supertank.  la segunda parte de la tesis, teniendo en cuenta los inconvenientes que pueden presentar los m\u00e9todos de nivel i y ii, propone la incorporaci\u00f3n de las t\u00e9cnicas de optimizaci\u00f3n al dise\u00f1o de obras mar\u00edtimas.  la importancia de incorporar t\u00e9cnicas de
