Dolores Ortiz M\u00e1rquez <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Esta tesis doctoral ets\u00e1 dedicada al desarrollo de un modelo de ojo personalziado a partir de par\u00e1metros reales (radios, espesores, asfericidades, topograf\u00eda corneal, etc.) Con el objetivo de evaluar la calidad \u00f3ptica del sistema visual, calculando mediante trazado de rayos la funci\u00f3n de dispersi\u00f3n de un punto imagen (psf) y la funci\u00f3n de transferencia de modulaci\u00f3n (mtf), y relacionarla con los datos de calidad visual objetiva de los pacientes, medida en t\u00e9rminos de la agudeza visual (av) y la sensibilidad al contraste (sc). Entre las posibilidades que ofrece esta herramienta de c\u00e1lculo individualizado est\u00e1 la capacidad para estudiar y\/o predecir el efecto de cambios producidos en el ojo, simulando dichos cambios sobre el modelo. Un ejemplo interesante es la aplicaci\u00f3n a la cirug\u00eda lasik, para la que se ha desarrollado un procedimiento objetivo de c\u00e1lculo que, a partir del modelo de ojo personalizado y la carcterziaci\u00f3n de la evoluci\u00f3n de la biomec\u00e1nica corneal tras la cirug\u00eda, proporciona a cada paciente un plan quir\u00fargico personalizado ( en t\u00e9rminos de radio corneal a tallar) para conseguir tanto la emetropia (prescindir de correcci\u00f3n) como la mejor agudeza visual.
