Para ello se han empleado diversas t\u00e9cnicas microsc\u00f3picas, citom\u00e9tricas y de cultivo.  1,- determinaci\u00f3n del n\u00famero de c\u00e9lulas totales: tinci\u00f3n con naranja de acridina, utilizaci\u00f3n de c\u00e1maras de recuento y tinci\u00f3n con el kit live\/dead baclight.  2,- determinaci\u00f3n de la biomasa viable; m\u00e9todo de kogure (medida de la incorporaci\u00f3n de sustrato y divisi\u00f3n celular), reducci\u00f3n de int o ctc (detecci\u00f3n de actividad respiratoria), tinci\u00f3n con kit live\/dead baclight (existencia de permeabilidad selectiva de membrana) y siembra en medios de cultivo s\u00f3lidos.  los estudios en el laboratorio han permitido caracterizar las respuestas de supervivencia de listonella pelagia y vibrio splendidus biotipo 1. Ambas especies presentan:  1,- supervivencia a largo plazo (mayor de 3 meses) en los microcosmos con condiciones m\u00e1s pr\u00f3ximas a las existentes en el agua de mar (bajas concentraciones de nutrientes y salinidad del 33 por mil); en este estado, l.Pelagia disminuye significativamente su tama\u00f1o y se vuelve cocoide, aumentando una banda de prote\u00edna de membrana externa de 36 kda.  2,- estado viable no cultivable (vnc), inducido a salinidades menores 16 por mil y\/o a una concentraci\u00f3n de nutrientes de 17 g l-1. Las c\u00e9lulas vnc de l.Pelagia son cocides, pudiendo producirse o no un aumento del biovolumen. no se producen variaciones en los perfiles de prote\u00ednas de membrana ni en los lipolisac\u00e1ridos de la pared celular. L.Pelagia se recuper\u00f3 \u00abin vitro\u00bb (tras la incubaci\u00f3n con ampicilina a concentraciones bactericidas y penicilinasa) e \u00abin vivo\u00bb (tras la inyecci\u00f3n en dorada) en 2\/19 casos.
