En estos a\u00f1os el magisterio se enfrent\u00f3 a una serie de cambios pol\u00edticos, sociales y religiosos que dieron un giro inesperado al \u00e1mbito escolar y a la vida cotidiana y profesional del colectivo. La reforma educativa proyectada por la ii rep\u00fablica, esperanzadora para buena parte del magisterio, encontr\u00f3 la oposici\u00f3n de los grupos m\u00e1s conservadores y de la iglesia que no aceptaron de buen grado que las ense\u00f1anzas religiosas quedaran relegadas al \u00e1mbito privado y se apartara al clero de la ense\u00f1anza. En 1936, con la guerra civil en marcha, ambos bandos, conscientes de la labor socializadora del maestro, le acusan de haber utilizado la ense\u00f1anza para influir pol\u00edtica e ideol\u00f3gicamente en el alumnado. Republicanos y nacionales depurar\u00e1n entonces al magisterio cuyos efectivos ser\u00e1n, en muchos casos, sancionados con la p\u00e9rdida temporal o definitiva de su trabajo, con penas de c\u00e1rcel e incluso con la muerte. Su entorno social m\u00e1s cercano particip\u00f3 activamente en el proceso y sus informes -positivos o negativos- denuncias y avales contribuyeron de forma decisiva a inclinar la balanza a su favor o en su contra. Con la victoria los sublevados iniciar\u00e1n la ruptura con el anterior proyecto educativo y el magisterio, reciclado ideol\u00f3gicamente, dejar\u00e1 de lado el servicio al individuo para servir al
