Se revisan los modelos de calidad de vida en la infancia, los instrumentos de evaluaci\u00f3n disponibles y su utilizaci\u00f3n en distintos campos: social, sanitario y educativo. Adem\u00e1s se describen las caracter\u00edsticas evolutivas de los ni\u00f1os en edad escolar y se aborda el concepto de dificultades en el aprendizaje, exponiendo los aspectos que podr\u00edan comprometer el bienestar percibido por los ni\u00f1os con necesidades educativas especiales.  la investigaci\u00f3n sobre calidad de vida en la infancia es reciente y reclama mayores desarrollos. Por ello, en la parte emp\u00edrica llevamos a cabo tres estudios:  en el primer estudio el objetivo era conocer los componentes de una vida de calidad seg\u00fan la opini\u00f3n infantil. Le preguntamos a 110 ni\u00f1os de 8 y 12 a\u00f1os por sus experiencias, utilizando metodolog\u00eda cualitativa. El an\u00e1lisis de contenido de las respuestas permiti\u00f3 identificar dominios de bienestar y proponer un modelo.  el segundo estudio consisti\u00f3 en el desarrollo y an\u00e1lisis de las caracter\u00edsticas psicom\u00e9tricas de dos instrumentos de evaluaci\u00f3n, usando como enfoque la teor\u00eda de la respuesta al \u00edtem: el cvi (cuestionario de calidad de vida infantil) y el cvip (cuestionario de calidad de vida infantil para padres). los resultados fueron altamente satisfactorios, en t\u00e9rminos de ajuste de datos al modelo, fiabilidad y validez.  en el tercer estudio analizamos la calidad de vida de 713 ni\u00f1os argentinos de entre 8 y 11 a\u00f1os, 113 de los cuales presentaban dificultades de aprendizaje, considerando la influencia de variables personales, familiares y socio-demogr\u00e1ficas. los ni\u00f1os con dificultades de aprendizaje presentaron una peor calidad de vida que el resto de compa\u00f1eros, y el nivel socioecon\u00f3mico familiar
